- Great Ideas for a Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation
The best honeymoon vacation is the all-inclusive, romantic cruise. Aboard a hulk of a ship, you'll enjoy entertaining shows by musicians, comedians, hypnotists and theatrical performers. You'll enjoy anytime dining in a variety of restaurants, cafes, bistros and bars. You can swim in pools, watch movies under the stars, soak in Jacuzzi tubs, receive massages at the spa, gamble in the casinos, play mini-golf, take dance lessons or a cooking class, and shop for souvenirs. Once your ship reaches port, you'll have the opportunity to purchase some additional tours or adventures on the island. Here are some of the most romantic travel destinations in the Caribbean islands.
San Juan, Puerto Rico is an intriguing US territory and a popular honeymoon vacation stop. In New San Juan, you'll find McDonald's and American cuisine, fancy hotel resorts, business districts and trendy bars. In Old San Juan, you'll encounter an exotic blend of Spanish, Italian and South American influences that are very much akin to Cuba. You'll see preserved 16th century architecture, forts, antique shops, pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and stunning cathedrals.
History lovers will appreciate the El Morro fort, San Cristobal Fort, La Fortaleza, Catedral de San Juan and Museo Pablo Casals. The Bacardi Rum Factory can add a little fun to your romantic weekend and, if you're feeling lucky, try your hand at the Sheraton or Ritz-Carlton casinos. Waterfalls and wildflowers await a scenic stroll at El Yunque rainforest.
Aruba is a honeymoon vacation destination with rich cultural influences — from the Arawak Indians to the Old World Spanish and later, the Dutch. Aruba has been called "One Happy Island" and "The Caribbean's Theme Park" because it boasts over 24 diving sites, famous shipwrecks, championship golf courses, casinos and duty-free shops featuring everything from Tommy Hilfiger to diamonds. Eager shoppers load up on British chocolates and Dutch cheeses in the gift shops here, while beach vacation-loving people sip Pink Iguanas and Balashi beer on the sandy shores. While shops and restaurants are within walking distance, the beaches are a $14 taxi ride or $2.30 bus ride away. Many cruisers like to rent snorkel equipment from Red Sail Sports at the cruise terminal (for $15), then head down to Malmok Beach to see colorful coral and tropical fish just ten feet from shore, as well as Antilla, a WWII German freighter wreck. Romantic vacation activities include horseback riding to Malmok Beach, Alto Vista Chapel or in Arikok National Park; golfing at a Robert Trent-Jones course in Tierra del Sol; parasailing at Palm Beach; and dinner at Passions on the Beach at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. Real party animal couples won't want to miss the Kukoo Kunuku party bus for dinner and a tour of local watering holes.
It's amazing that Grenada, "the Isle of Spice," is still a viable honeymoon vacation spot following the 1994 Hurricane Ivan, which destroyed 90% of the buildings on this island. Despite the terrible devastation, much of the land has been rebuilt and revitalized. After your ship docks, your island vacation begins. You can walk to the St. George's tourist destinations like the Grenada National Museum, the Market Square and several beautiful churches. If you dock at Carenage, you'll be a quick cab ride from the city's forts and the world-renowned Grand Anse Beach. Once you reach the beach, you'll be able to go diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, parasailing and kayaking. For the best snorkeling, visit Moliniere Point and for the best hiking, visit Annandale Falls or Grand Etang National Park. The Dougaldston Spice Estate and Goyave Nutmeg Processing Station can give you an interesting look into how spices are produced. La Sagesse Beach is one of the more secluded, relaxing areas of the island, complete with a salty pond, mangroves and tropical birds.

- Port Dickson Has Much To Offer Tourists
Port Dickson, on the western coast of Malaysia, has become a popular destination for tourists, and for good reason. This historic area offers beautiful beaches, fine restaurants, and shopping opportunities. About a sixty minute drive from the capital, Kuala Lumpur, this town of nearly 90,000 is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
The town can be reached by other means than a private auto. Buses operate between several locations, including connections from the Kuala Lumpur airport. A daily ferry runs between the city and Dumai, Sumatra. And for those who prefer to arrive by boat, a dock owned by the yacht club can handle sailing vessels, cruisers, and of course yachts.
There are several historical sites that are interesting. One of the most popular is the Cape Rachardo lighthouse. Built in the 1500's by the Portuguese, it is still operational today. Those who choose to climb the narrow staircase are rewarded by a spectacular view across the Straits of Malacca. Nearby, visitors can see a footprint encased in a rock that is alleged to belong to a warrior who lived during the 1400's.
The Muzium Tentera Darat is located next to the army camp. Vehicles and aircraft once used by the Royal Malaysian Army are on display. Another site, Fort Kempas, has the tomb of Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Makhtum that dates to the 1400's. Carved stones are said to depict his struggles and ultimate victory, and there is a strange one that is supposed to be a type of lie detector. And Fort Raja Jumaat features a collection of old muzzle loaders that were once used to defend the fort, and also has a royal burial ground and palace foundations. More antique guns can be found beside the police station.
Any of the numerous places to stay, such as the Cozzi Port Dickson hotel, can arrange for snorkeling, skiing, or canoe rides. The Yacht Club can provide temporary memberships for those who would like to go sailing.
As befits an excellent tourist town, Port Dickson has many fine restaurants. Seafood, along with Chinese and Malaysian food, are popular, but the city also boasts an outstanding Mexican restaurant. Some of the hotels and resorts have their own dining rooms.
A Saturday night market near the center of town offers a unique shopping experience. Fish and fresh produce is available, but you can also find such items as tee shirts and souvenirs.
Although the area was once best known for charcoal and tin production, the operations have not spoiled the natural beauty. The beaches are still pristine and the surrounding jungle is still vibrant. Port Dickson has become an increasingly attractive tourist destination, and will likely become even more popular. New hotels and facilities are currently under construction, and more are planned for the near future.

- We Find The Rosalie Moller
The first trace on the Decca screen was simply unbelievable. We passed over the objective from side to side and I stared in disbelief at the image before me. It looked like one of those child's drawings - a "V" shaped hull with a box representing the bridge and a funnel on top. For a moment, I thought someone below decks was feeding a computer image onto the screen - but then it was gone.

- Some Really Useful Travelling Tips
Travelling can be a very soothing experience. My guess is that it is being far from one's typical environment that provides the greatest thrill.
When you travel don't make the mistake of trying to buy everything you eat on the way. Rather take pre-cooked food with you that includes snacks and a meal or two to have on the way. You can store this anywhere, even in home storage boxes. The good thing about this is that you can have a picnic on the way as you rest. You will also be able to save money that can be spent on buying souvenirs.
Entertainment on the way is very important. Children can become very irritable when they aren't entertained enough. Carry with you enough music which everyone likes and you will have sound to fill the occasional silence. The value of such songs will only be seen when you're much older and you hear such songs being played on the radio.
When you travel as a huge group of family and friends you stand to have a far better travelling experience. Children can therefore travel in one car and parents in another. The benefit of this is that children will have other children to play with and as parents you need not worry about talking about sensitive issues around the children.
Have maps when you travel. This might seem like it is unnecessary but it provides for good entertainment. When you travel to far away places you can stop over to check how much progress you have made. You might think this is boring for children but you'll be surprised to find your child asking for the map to see how far you have travelled. If you have a baby, take breaks to stretch your body and maybe even give the baby a baby bath as the baby will feel fresher after a long journey sitting in a baby car seat.
Record your experiences with a camcorder or camera. This is always a fun thing to do especially if you transfer the footage to cd and play it later when you get home. Give each other turns to record footage and also remember to bring enough memory cards with you so that you never run out of storage space.
When you bring a baby with you, you must strap it into a car seat for his comfort. One that works well is the britax car seat. On top of this make sure you have enough diapers so that is your child poops you can clean him up quickly.

- Wheel Covers: Appears As Though People Are Hunting For Details On The Subject Of Wheel Covers
Living in an area with drastic weather changes can take its toll on a car owner. You not only have to get a vehicle that can handle all of the different weather that you are faced with, but will more than likely also have to get several sets of tires to handle it as well. Instead of sitting those tires on the side of the house or burying them in the garage, spare tire covers would be a wise choice.
- Do You Enjoy Sport Fishing Tackle
Have you noticed that you have a real affinity for your sport fishing tackle? Not merely the understandable desire to have the supplies you want to take pleasure in the sport, but I mean an authentic emotional bond to it. And were you actually anxious to go to your preferred pond or stream to try out your brand new lures?
- #1 Florida Routs Hapless Troy State
The 2009 college football season is already two weeks old and so far its looked almost too easy for defending national champions Florida. That was expected last week, as they destroyed overmatched FCS opponent Charleston Southern 62-3, but it wasn't much harder today against a better class of opposition. QB Tim Tebow threw for four touchdowns and ran for a fifth as the Gators demolished Troy State 56-6.

- John Lennon? Imagine Meeting You Here!
After my repeatedly-delayed 4-hour flight from Bordeaux yesterday, I'm finally back safe and sound in the UK. It's pretty rare to get a "White Christmas" nowadays, so with recent reports about the UK getting its fair share of snow I was pleasantly surprised to see my car covered in a sprinkling. I was pretty tired from the journey, and had to wipe my eyes, but as I approached the car I saw John Lennon staring right back at me!
Yes, you heard me correctly - John Lennon! Okay, not literally, but by the way the snow had begun to thaw on my windscreen it was pretty much the best effigy of the bespectacled Beatle I had seen in quite some time. My friends do say I have an over-active imagination, but I was in a Liverpool Airport car park at the time and I think you'll agree that the face that stared back at me was pretty close to the real thing.
So this got me thinking a bit more about the spirits of departed legends like Elvis Presley, and especially John Lennon (a keen world-traveller in his own right during his heyday).
Sightings of famous spectres aren't really anything new, though. Elvis Presley is probably the most overworked celebrity on the planet. From supermarkets and petrol stations to his beloved Graceland, it appears the spirit of Elvis is still very much with us. Probably the most popular fan sighting has the ghost of Elvis marrying the ghost of Marilyn Monroe at Graceland itself – no doubt a sight to behold.
As with many of the 20th century’s most beloved celebrities and icons – John Lennon has continued to live through his music in the hearts and minds of adoring fans worldwide. For some though, his presence is a little more tangible than mere memory. For some, John Lennon is very much amongst us.
As one of the icon's best-known legacies, John Lennon Airport has curiously never reported a visitation from the spectral Lennon. He's never even been spotted in a ghostly Bentley, circling around looking for parking at Liverpool Airport. Given how much time The Beatles spent flying in and out of the airport during their 1960s heyday, it seems puzzling that John wouldn’t choose to return to such familiar surroundings.
Even Paul McCartney, his most famous of pals, believes he has had an encounter with Lennon's presence since his untimely passing. While recording the Lennon-penned "Free As A Bird" in 1995, he reported sensing the presence of his former songwriting partner. "There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio - noises that shouldn't have been there and equipment doing all manner of weird things. There was just an overall feeling that John was around”.
Since his death in 1980, rumours have been rife of Lennon’s ‘premonitions’ and concern for his own safety, particularly following the death of their former Road Manager. He even stated that this fear contributed to the break-up of The Beatles. He was even heard to say “I’m next, I know it”.
Whatever you believe, there’s no doubt that Liverpool’s most famous son continues to touch us all – whether through his legacy of timeless music or in a more, shall we say, ‘real’ sense.
It's funny what kind of thoughts come to you when you combine a travel-fatigued mind with a little randomly-fallen snow, eh?
- Do You Like the Snow in Sussex, or Maybe Prefer a Safari in Kenya - You Choose
The first snow of winter 2009 has finally arrived! Even down here in the South of England where we don’t normally get more than a few flurries, it has already started to settle. The kids are all excited because it could mean the end of the school term a few days early! Mind you it’s not just the kids who enjoy the snow. I am heading towards my mid 40’s and I still get a thrill with the first snowfall of winter.

- An Introduction To Horse Race Betting
Sports gambling is a popular pursuit because everyone understands the basics of how teams win and lose and why. Horses, meanwhile, are an entirely different animal"no pun intended. It is a complex discipline unto itself, and a sound background in handicapping sports doesn't insure success, or even mediocrity in handicapping the ponies. In fact, the history of sports betting is replete with successful gamblers that had a weakness for horse betting, with an emphasis on the word weakness. Most notable, perhaps, is the former resident handicapper at CBS, Jimmy The Greek Snyder. The story goes that The Greek was a first rate sports handicapper, but he couldn't pick the winner of a one horse race when playing the ponies. The bad news for The Greek is that he enjoyed playing the ponies nonetheless, and often frittered away the money he won at the other end of the sportsbook.
- Baltimore Offense Blitzes Kansas City
The bad news for the Baltimore Ravens in their 2009 NFL regular season opener was that their vaunted defense gave up 24 points despite holding a decided advantage in every other statistical category. The good news was that their offense was more than up to the task, answering with 38 points and a franchise record 501 yards. All told, the Ravens opened their season on a winning note beating the Kansas City Chiefs 38-24. Quarterback Joe Flacco threw for a career high 307 yards and three touchdown passes in the victory.
